colored is actually a really racist word due to its origins and bad conotation. while not everyone gets offended you will be called a racist. its not a politically correct term. however you are welcome to use it. but it originated in the 1800's. it became very derogatory in the civil war and has never had a good conotation. "people of color" is a politically correct term but it generally refers to everyone that is not white.
okay, well, I’m sorry that I didn’t know that writing “colored people” was worse than writing “black people”. I never mean to harm anyone, but I just don’t know what to call people anymore, everyhting seems to be racist in some way. Last time this stupid racist shit came up on my blog it was racist and wrong of me to write “black people” and I wrote colored instead and that was okay. Now, all in a sudden, that is wrong as well. I don’t want to talk about this shit anymore because this is a hair blog and not a blog about different races. I’m not racist, and that’s it.
The phrase, "coloured people" is racist and offensive to some people, especially in the south. I don't know if you're racist, or not, but different people get offended by different things. Not being mean, but people can be cutthroat. You seem like a sweet person and your blog is nice.
I’m sorry, I don’t want to sound rude now, but, are you kidding me? I think coloured people sounds a lot better than black people. I feel that I can’t call people with a different skin tone than mine anything anymore :c
the person seems to think you're running one of those over-privileged, colorful-haired, galaxy-hipster people blogs, but that's really not the case at all. it's about what each particular girl or boy has done with their beautiful hair and how it can inspire us to do something special with ours. the one being racially discriminating is that person! LOL
Ah, I see! Well, like, I don’t go over to hair blogs made for only black people’s hair and start talking shit about it. I actually do post black people on this blog, but it seems like some people don’t go through my blog well enough before judging. If she means that this blog is racist, I must say that I don’t have anything against people who’s not of my race. Like you say, I only post hair that I like, I don’t care anything about the skin colour. It makes me sad that people start judging and talking about my blog like that. I can admit that, yes, there is a lot of white people on this blog, but I have never said nor written that this blog is ONLY for white people. I let people submit their own pics at the wehearthairsubmissions.tumblr.com blog and I post EVERYTHING that comes there. I’ve posted a whole bunch of coloured people and they all have unique and beautiful hairstyles! I just wish that it was easier to find black people with the hair I’m looking for! I don’t have anything against their skin colour, but the hair doesn’t always fit to my blog. It’s the HAIR that matters, not the skin colour. If I find girls with darker skin colour and hair that I like, I post it. I just get so annoyed. Sorry for writing a lot, but seriously, I think it was kinda mean of her to judge like that. Anyways, I’m gonna stop now.
